Eyes on Innovation

Innovation Showcase at the Texas Tribune Festival

The Texas Tribune Festival, an annual 3-day event bringing together some of the biggest names in politics to discuss pressing issues, has been hosted by The University of Texas at Austin since 2011. University Communications viewed this year's event as a unique opportunity to showcase the ingenuity of our faculty and student research to festivalgoers. At the first-ever Innovation Showcase, attendees were able to witness firsthand — and even interact with — some of UT Austin's most exciting new technologies.

Goal: Leverage a captive audience of legislators, lobbyists, journalists, and political gurus to showcase the world changing advancements happening at the university.

Approach and Marketing Collateral: Microsite, Faculty Experts Guide, print/web advertisements, day-of promotion and Innovation Showcase event featuring technologies from the Cockrell School of Engineering, College of Natural Sciences, College of Fine Arts and Moody College of Communication.

Day-of Event Promotion

Located beneath the iconic tower, the Innovation Showcase was perfectly positioned amongst the buzz of the festival. To make it even more prominent, Creative Services designed large gator boards for each showcase booth, branded directional signage and a banner for the exterior of the Main Building.
