The University of Texas at Austin digital photography collection is comprised of millions of photos documenting life at the university over the past several decades. From student events to research labs to architectural details across the Forty Acres, University Communications oversees, curates and manages this rich collection for both internal and external use.
Copyright and Usage
The University of Texas at Austin retains the use, copyright and licensing to all images. You may not re-use, sell, distribute or copy any image obtained from the DAMS. All rights for reproduction of any image remain with The University of Texas and any permission to use these images must be obtained prior to publication or any other use. Exceptions are made only if special arrangements are made in advance of reproduction and use of the images. Publication in magazines, advertising or other commercial uses may require the payment of additional fees.
University photos shot prior to 2003 are archived with the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History. To request a specific image or image search from 2003 – present, please submit the Digital Asset Request Form. Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Portfolio, our Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), offers a searchable database of photography and video. Images in DAMS are for use and distribution by University of Texas at Austin purposes only, and access to Portfolio is restricted to UT Austin employees.
