University Communications is excited to host the third annual University Excellence in Communications Awards. This is a time to recognize marketers and communicators from across campus for their efforts in telling the ongoing story of UT Austin to our many different audiences. Make a nomination via the online form or view the winners and finalists from 2020 and 2019.
- Any staff or faculty member can nominate any UT Austin staff member or team in a communications role.
- Communications staff can self-nominate.
- Nominees must be in good standing with the University.
- Work completed between June 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021
Entries are due July 31, 2021.
Please review the 14 categories below and consider nominating your team, yourself, or any other UT Austin communication staff member for an award for any work completed between June 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021.
Community Outreach: Outreach campaigns or publications to external communities and non–UT Austin community partners in Texas
Cross-University Collaboration: Work by multiple teams and individuals collaborating across campus
Internal Communications: Strategy, campaigns or publications focused on any UT Austin internal audiences: students, faculty or staff
Marketing & Development Campaigns: Campaigns produced online and/or in print
Media Relations: Placements and/or press coverage with external media
Photography: Photography in a single work product or campaign (up to seven images). Photos are not required to have been taken by the same photographer
Publications - Magazines: Magazines (story-telling vehicles with narratives and images) produced online or in print
Publications - Non-magazines: Non-story-centered publications (e.g., viewbooks, annual reports) produced online or in print
Small but Mighty: Work by teams of three or fewer people in an office, school or unit that makes a big impact despite small resources
Social Media: Social media strategy demonstrated by a campaign or overall presence
Video: Video for a specific institutional purpose
Visual Design: Visual design, online or in print
Websites and Applications: Digital platforms such as websites, web and mobile applications, augmented reality, and/or virtual reality applications
Writing: Long-form and/or short-form writing, published online or in print, single articles or multiple stories (up to three)
